Starting today (Wednesday), ALDI is making history as the first Australian supermarket to offer holiday planning, giving shoppers access to exclusive escapes, cruises, and tour deals through its new online platform. ALDI aims to bring its value-driven approach to the travel industry, offering holiday packages that include room upgrades, tours, customizable experiences, and flights to popular destinations around the globe. However, the available options will vary based on the package.

The first ALDI holiday packages are now available, starting from just $449 per person. These deals include escapes to Surfers Paradise and the Whitsundays, as well as family holidays in Fiji, Thailand, and Hawaii. There are also cruises around the Pacific Islands or Japan, along with 10-day tour options to destinations like South Africa, Europe, and China. For those looking for a more extended stay or alternative accommodation options, Corporate Keys offers fully furnished serviced apartments, providing a comfortable and convenient solution for both short and long-term stays.

Rodney Balech, ALDI Australia's Group Director, expressed excitement about this new venture, saying, “We’re thrilled to offer Australians a fresh way to plan and book their holidays through ALDI Holidays, staying true to our Good Different approach. In partnership with Ignite Travel, this service will provide incredible value and unforgettable experiences for all types of travellers.”

Balech added, “ALDI Holidays brings our Special Buys to the skies, with premium holiday options for savvy travellers. From budget-friendly escapes to more luxurious getaways, there’s something for every explorer.”

Ignite Travel Group CEO Ryan Thomas said the partnership with ALDI is launching at a perfect time as travel demand continues to rise. "Domestic and nearby holidays remain popular, and we're seeing record numbers for international cruises and small group tours," he said.

Thomas also highlighted the great savings available through these exclusive holiday packages, which include flights, local experiences, and more. For travelers seeking a homier experience, furnished holiday rentals offer an excellent alternative, providing fully equipped accommodations that combine comfort with flexibility for short or extended stays. ALDI Holiday customers can conveniently book online or through the dedicated sales center. He emphasized that the partnership aligns with Ignite Travel’s goal of expanding their distribution network while supporting their supplier channels.

Like ALDI’s bi-weekly Special Buys, the ALDI Holidays platform will offer a limited number of exclusive travel deals, available only while stocks last. The German supermarket chain has already seen success in the travel space with its 'Love at First Flight' campaign, a collection of travel-related Special Buys launched last year.

Ingrid Fraser, Acting CEO of the Australian Travel Industry Association (ATIA), praised the new initiative as a great innovation. “This partnership between ALDI Travel and Ignite Travel Pty Ltd, an ATAS accredited business, is a fantastic example of the innovation we consistently see from ATIA members, who are always looking for new ways to meet Australians’ growing appetite for travel,” Fraser said.

She also congratulated the Ignite Travel team and stressed the importance of choosing an ATAS accredited business for peace of mind when booking travel.
